First Olympus 12 Refuge Challenger
A challenger diary with Litochoro, Prionia, Livadaki, cold shelters, low water, wrong turns, stamps, and hard decisions.
The first challenger story shows what the route feels like when it stops being a concept. There is little sleep before departure, a forest bivouac when continuing would be wrong, cold at Agios Antonios, scarce water near Migotzidis, wind on the ridges, and the relief of each stamp when the next shelter finally appears.
Challenge Proof
The diary begins from Litochoro and Prionia, visits the shelters in reverse order from Livadaki toward Bountolas, and keeps the practical lessons visible: do not start straight after travel, always have an alternative plan, and never underestimate water, weather, or darkness.
